Anne Marie is a singer of vast
and varied experience having lent her vocal talents to combos
from right across the musical spectrum.
She started her love affair with the mike as
focal point and main songwriter for the well-regarded indie-rock
outfit “Smoked Oak”. From there she has branched out
into folk and Pop acoustic duos teaming up with the likes of Ken
Stanley, Roy Shiels and Kieran McEvoy. Another ongoing successful
venture to make capital from the smoky allure of Anne Marie’s
“Dietrich-like” vocals is the jazz combo “Schmooze”.
Schmooze also features the dazzling piano talents of Peter Roycroft
(of Jacob’s ladder and the Don Baker band).
She co-founded the wedding band “the Afters” with
Roy Shiels and the two have taken that venture in a new direction
with Kieran Harrington to form Deilín.
Anne Marie studied singing with the Jazz man,
Joseph Bowlby, is currently studying Grade 6 piano with the Royal
Irish Academy of Music and likes to dabble in a range of other instruments
including the Bodhran, bass and guitar. |
